This is a great product I am liking it so far. It comes installed on a microSD card and has both a mini and full size adaptor included. I rate it a four and a half stars because the card is only 2GB, which leaves you with only 700MB of storage space for waypoints and other GPS related things and music, pictures and what ever else you want to put on your phone. I first bought this to use with my BlackJack 2. I had been looking around to see how to use the GPS in it without having to pay ATT just for navigator and then another a month for data. Needless to say it didn’t work, it kept asking for an eight digit unlock code. I didn’t want to install a hack to get the GPS to work since based on peoples review it barely worked 50% of the time. I contacted support and the first thing they asked was if I was using a Windows Mobile cell with 6.1 that also had a keypad. I said yes and then they told me: “Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I’m sorry, but some Windows Mobile 6.1 devices have had some driver signing issues that make it incompatible with the latest release of Garmin Mobile XT for Windows Mobile. To get around this, we will need to revert your software to 5.00.00.” I never did install the patch cause I knew that I was going to be getting a new phone soon and I did not want to downgrade then not be able to upgrade back for the new phone. So now, a month later I have a Nokia N97 and it NEVER asked for a product key as it does not have one. When I first installed it, it told me it was incompatible but I installed it anyway and it worked. I think that is because the Symbial on the nokia is the newest 5th edition. Have not had a real chance to get down and dirty with it, but I do like it. It is 2009, the end of it anyway, so the streets showed up in the right places, even in an area where they had recently just redid everything. I did notice that it was not showing some of the smaller street names even though I had zoomed in (again I have not extensivly went threw the options yet). So, unless you have a touchscreen per support it will not work, though I am leaning more towards the fact that the phone was locked then anything else. How else are they going to get me to pay that a month to use a feature that comes with the phone.

MyGuide 3050 go is a very attractive navigation solution consisting of a PNA (Personal navigation assistant) with an embedded GPS antenna and the highly sensitive SiRF III chip plus the reliable MyGuide 6.0 navigation software. You operate the software intuitively with your finger and are guided efficiently to your destination both by clear voice instructions and distinct graphics. Unjit has a 3.5″ TFT LCD Touchscreen. All U.S./Canada Maps are contained on the 1GB SD Card. Has 23 voices and languages.

I have used this GPS for about a year all over the USA and many parts of Canada. It works well and has an amazing amount of info on its 1 GB SD card. Not having to download information from the computer is the way to go. There are some quirks to the unit as others have mentioned but they are not serious. If you can get the unit for a good price I would recommend going for it.
For all those that already have the Myguide 3050, I downloaded and installed the 6.1 upgrade from the MyGuideGPS website without any trouble. The upgrade fixes all the issues and is a nice upgrade.
UPDATE: After 13 months the MyGuide died. No way to get it repaired as the distributor seems to have gone out of business. Replaced with a TOMTOM 130 which does not have as nice an interface.

I too use this unit for VFR air navigation….manually entering lat/long from current AFDs, Flight Guides, airnav.com, or landings.com
It works perfectly.
When bearing and heading are identical–inevitably, when it says you are 30 miles or less from the airport, you can make it out on the nose…..amazing!
WAY easier to use than the Garmin Etrex.
I bought a second one as back-up…kind of a pilot thing. I run the primary one on the Magellan 12v lighter socket adapter.
(Non-aviators note that an FAA approved panel-installed GPS can easily exceed ,500)
It’s very valuable for driving, too. It’s not too difficult to get lat/long from a variety of sources. (If you need turn by turn prompts, you might not be much of a driver OR navigator.) If it says go 045, find some way to get east and north.
A tip for GPS users:
Find yourself a Britannica World Atlas at a used book fair. What you are after is the 200 pp index of World cities at the back. ALL significant World Cities are given in lat/long, even US cities under 5,000 population—so you can always have the answer to “….how much further, Daddy?”

I had a case for a Garmin GPS and it was just a belt clip that you slide on and off your belt, and unfortunately, it can come off your belt (which it often did) and you can lose your GPS unit for good.
This eXplorist case comes with a real nice strong wide and secure strip that you have to undo your belt and loop your belt through, so when you are out hiking, you don’t have to keep checking and be afraid it fell off your belt, because there is no way for this case to come off without you taking your belt off! NICE!
It’s not just a loop of string or rope either, it is better described as a belt or strip of tough material attached real secure to the case.
True, you can’t quickly slide the case on and off of your belt as with a clip, but why would you need to take the case on and off, you take the GPS out when you need it and the case stays on the belt where it is safe and can’t get dropped or lost.
For this is a great case. I can get the GPS in and out quickly and easily. I like the secure, yet easy to open zipper as opposed to the velcro flap that my Garmin case has.
The only negative I would have is that I would have liked the padding to be a bit thicker, but I suppose I can always slide a strong piece of leather or something into it on the inside to better protect the GPS from an impact to the case. There is enough room to do this and still be able to get the GPS unit in and out without problem.
What else can you buy for only today?

Nevertheless, after the reading reviews about this product, I was decided to go ahead and purchase it. I am very happy with the product. My GPS fits perfectly into bracket.
